and might i just say
mother of the maker what is in the water surrounding gotham city? lsd?

there seems to be a DISPROPORTIONATELY LARGE  amount of the populous that are suffering from some sort of mental disorder. im fairly certain i knocked out well over 2000 former asylum patients. its quite dishearting as you progress through the game to realise that you are beating on the mentally ill.

what size of a city is arkham anyway? or gotham for that matter.

but really why are there so many "insane" people in arkham. the only characters that would argue that quallify as "insane" and who belonged in the asylum in the first place would be Hatter /jervis tetch and his schizophrenia , harly quinn and her bonny-and-clyde complex , twoface and his bi-polar mania and MAYBE batman himself.

it just seems cruel to me that the government in Gotham was some how convinced to put the mentally sound criminals in with the lunitics and the mentally ill in with criminals

its almost as though they thing that being mentally ill is a crime or that all mentally ill people are violent...

further more how was it that Mayor sharp has some how managed to get power of vito over all other decision makers in Gotham... did they not have a vote? "all those in favor of an open air asylum/ prison with no staff , no medical care or working plumbing. also we need to use a large chunk of the city so we'll just use the bit that none of us live in."

no.

i am an imaginative person. but honestly Rocksteady outside a game with magic, this stretches my suspension of disbelief to breaking point.

dont get me wrong i really liked batman arkham city . however excluding  its frankly Draconian outlook towards the mentally ill , it wasnt just as good as Asylum story wise. and it loses a few points for going straight Giant sandbox (but that said it held it together well enough to claw most of those points back with the upgraded grapple launcher )

bloody hell. i didnt mean this to turn into a review. i just wanted to rant about the batshit (pun: intended) crazy policies in Gotham, like a paragraph at max

i really cant decide if i like the riddler trophies side mission. in the start i was still bitter over that bullshit he put me through in asylum , but after reading the riddlers backstory i began to warm to him. and dare i even say ; like him. hes an intresting little character and you have to apreciate some intelligence and clever wordsmiths next to batman.
still cant quite warm to batman mind you.
while the final riddler trophy, the combat ones ( achieve an x 5 variation bonus) had me seing red , the others were fairly simple to get and i started to activly enjoy doing it. it made me a little sad when i got the the final riddler room and all you had to do was walk at a timed pace and do a shitty little take down . which, by the way , was the video gaming equivilant of the football playing jock knocking out a few of the nerds teeth and shoving him in a locker. serious batman , edward is EASILY 40 pounds lighter than you. you could restrain him with a noogie. breaking his jaw seems a wee bit excessive ....thought that being said it probably still wouldnt shut him up.
(did anyone else get a little big of a giddy thrill following him around when he was attached to the rail and hereing him freak out when the light went red and he though he was going to be blown up? or am i just sick?)

speaking of excessive, have i mentioned that batman has spent the better part of two games beating up mentally ill people?

long story short i really like the batman games , ive ordered orgins and im planning on getting arkham knight when it comes out.

any guess who the knight might be? my money is on Hush at the moment.
